19th century bronze bust of Dantes mounted on the original oval wood plinth.

A very reasonable piece for desk or table, which would make an attractive paperweight or decorative item.

Size-9.5 inches long by 8.5 inches high by 5 inches deep (overall).

Well modelled, with a nice rich patina.

In overall very good condition. There is a hole on the top of the head, and some small holes on the face as pictured, reasons unknown. May possibly have been a student or test piece perhaps.

A great value, and quirky piece for desk or bookcase, to use as a paperweight, bookend, or potentially to be made into a nice lamp.

The bust separates from the plinth for transport.

Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
