Description

FREDERICK ("FRITZ") WINKLER (1897-1974): An intriguing, charming and elegant early 20th century BRONZE FIGURE of a young mother holding a tiny infant in her right hand with a robe in her left.

Good gilded patina, with a tiny bit of rubbing in one or two parts. This is a fine bronze; the quality of the detail and the subect matter, both delightful and a little mysterious. 9ins (23cms) high including the shallow base.

Fully signed and numbered. **Frederick WINKLER was born and trained in Germany, emigrating to Canada in the 1930s.
