Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Regency side table is constructed from fruitwood with dark rosewood cross-banding around the rectangular top and two drawers, presenting a warm brown colour with visible timber grain. The piece stands on finely turned upright legs with ring turnings, joined by a low diagonal X-frame stretcher that finishes in plain tapered feet below. Each of the two narrow drawers is fitted with a pair of round brass knob handles and a central dark diamond-shaped key escutcheon. Measuring 74 cm in height, 46 cm in width, and 34 cm in depth, the compact table fits comfortably at the end of a sofa or in a narrow hallway as a decorative surface and storage spot for small items. It brings traditional period character to a living room, study, or bedroom setting.

FAQs

Regency side tables, dating from the early nineteenth century, are defined by classical proportions, brass hardware, and contrasting veneer borders or cross-banding.

Cabinetmakers frequently combined native fruitwoods such as cherry or apple with contrasting woods like rosewood or mahogany, complemented by hand-turned legs and cast brass drawer pulls.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct hand-cut dovetail joints, original brass hardware, historical wear consistent with age, and hand-planed timber surfaces.

Position the table beside a sofa or reading chair, styling the surface with a small table lamp or ceramic vase to complement contemporary decor.

Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dust regularly with a soft cloth, and apply beeswax annually to preserve the timber finish.
