Antique Victorian Burr Walnut Canterbury C.1870

Description

A late 19th century burr walnut canterbury, the divided upper gallery fitted with brass retaining rods and a central arrangement of turned, spiral twist solid walnut spindles beneath brass-capped corner terminals, all set over a single drawer and raised on turned baluster legs with original brass and ceramic castors.

The structured upper gallery provides practical storage for magazines, books and large folios, while the rich burr walnut figure, architectural turnings and brass details give the piece an unmistakable decorative presence, allowing it to function as a useful distinctive accent beside a drawing room armchair or within a study.

Very good antique condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Castors are fixed in position. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
