Description

k0641 A rare and unusual Victorian Gothic Revival solid oak hall stand, dating from circa 1860.

Displaying superb quality and elegant proportions, this stylish statement piece features a moulded back adorned with six original, highly decorative petal-motif coat hooks, flanked by turned finials and two additional lower hooks. The structure is raised on fielded uprights detailed with carved Gothic rosettes, which seamlessly flow into a striking base. The lower section features beautifully scrolled leg leg supports, a shaped and carved central support, all rests on its original bun feet. This antique hall stand has been sympathetically cleaned and waxed, successfully retaining its original mellow colour, authentic French polish finish, and a soft, historic patina. It is entirely free of woodworm, structurally rock-solid, and arrives in home-ready condition to grace any interior. c1860
