Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in 19th-century dining rooms, a Victorian mahogany etagere buffet served as a multi-tiered display and serving table, designed to accommodate serving dishes, silver, or glassware during formal meals.

Mid-19th-century etageres were typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, utilising hand-turned or reeded vertical columns, mortise and tenon joinery, and raised rim borders around each tier.

Authentic pieces from around 1850 demonstrate hand-finished joinery, age-related patination within unexposed recessed areas, historic saw marks on structural undersides, and hand-carved decorative turned finials.

A tiered antique buffet functions effectively as a narrow console table in an entryway, a home bar station in a living room, or a dedicated stand for books and potted plants in a study.

Maintain antique mahogany by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year, while avoiding direct heat sources and exposure to prolonged sunlight.
