Description

A beautifully carved early oak portrait panel from the 15thc....it is carved with a "romayne" central portrait of a male wearing an impressive head-dress, hippocampus, exotic birds and a winged cherub...the panel is in excellent condition and would have probably been part of an interior screen or wall panelling from a large house / chateaux ....in very good condition for its great age, with a good natural colour and is a very skill-fully carved piece from a craftsman of the time.
