Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A kovsh is a traditional Russian boat-shaped drinking vessel or ladle, originally used for serving beverages such as mead or vodka, which later evolved into a ceremonial decorative gift in Russian silversmithing.

Silversmiths shaped the body from silver, soldered thin silver wire partitions onto the surface to create detailed motifs, filled the compartments with powdered glass enamel, fired the piece, and gilded the exposed silver.

Authentic Russian silver pieces carry official hallmarking, typically including the 84 zolotnik purity mark representing 875/1000 silver content, along with an official city stamp and a makers mark struck into the metal surface.

These compact decorative vessels function well as accent objects displayed inside a glass cabinet, arranged on a sideboard top, or placed on a mantlepiece within a curated display.

Dust gently using a dry, soft microfibre cloth and avoid immersing the vessel in water or applying abrasive chemical polishes, as these can strip the gold layer and damage delicate enamelling.
