Walton House Antiques has dated this Georgian Satinwood Cheveret Table to the Georgian era.
The Cheveret is highly-figured with West Indian satinwood and crossbanded in purpleheart.

The upper section is deliberately made with its large carrying handle and sits on a veneered table base that conceals a fitted drawer, that retains its original gilt brass ring pulled handles. The frieze drawer opens to reveal a pen and ink compartment with an adjustable sliding mahogany writing surface above storage to the underside.

The table base is free standing with satinwood and purple heart decoration to all four sides and raised on finely veneered elegant tapering legs.
The 18th century 'Ladies' writing table is of high quality and most probably executed by the makers of Gillow of London and Lancaster.
