Gillow’s 19th Century Antique Oak Bench Seat by Bruce Talbert
 
An impressive, large scale English antique oak Bruce Talbert designed banquette made and stamped by Gillow of Lancaster. Very good quality and featuring turned back supports with a central plaque with a carved dove of peace. In superb, strong and original condition, the long seat is traditionally upholstered with all the innards intact and in good order, ready for a new finishing fabric. This Gillow antique banquette stands on four well turned legs that have a connecting H stretcher. One of the legs has the makers stamped Gillow. Dates to around 1860, a design by the Scottish designer Bruce James Talbert. The seat is 50cm high.
