Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This nineteenth-century French Louis XVI style occasional table in walnut exhibits a warm brown timber colour with subtle inlaid detail on the frieze. It has a round white marble top surrounded by a pierced brass gallery rim, supported by four fluted tapered legs with brass-capped feet, and a single frieze drawer fitted with a small brass knob. Measuring 75 cm high and 46 cm wide, the table is compact enough to sit at the end of a sofa to hold a drink or display a small lamp. The piece works well in a drawing room, sitting room or bedroom as a practical side table next to seating. Its traditional materials and restrained decoration suit period interiors as well as classic modern spaces.

FAQs

A bouillotte table is a small, round French occasional table originating in the late eighteenth century, designed with a marble top enclosed by a gallery rim, fluted legs, and small frieze drawers.

These tables commonly feature timber frames made of walnut or mahogany, topped with marble slabs, and detailed with cast brass or bronze gallery rims and leg sabots.

Key construction features include straight tapered fluted legs, Neoclassical geometric symmetry, pierced brass gallery rims around marble inserts, and hand-dovetailed frieze drawers.

Place the table beside an armchair or sofa end, using its compact circular footprint as a functional surface for table lamps, books, or small decorative glassware.

Dust timber surfaces with a soft dry cloth, clean stone tops with pH-neutral cleaners to prevent acid etching, and clean brass components gently without stripping the aged patina.
