Imari porcelain refers to Japanese export ceramics produced in the Arita area and shipped via the port of Imari, originally developed during the seventeenth century.

It is crafted from white kaolin clay and decorated using underglaze cobalt blue combined with overglaze iron red, gilded detailing, and coloured enamels.
