Imari porcelain is a style of Japanese export ceramic named after the port of Imari, originally produced in the Arita region from the seventeenth century onwards.

These ceramics are crafted from fine kaolin clay porcelain, fired at high temperatures, and decorated using underglaze cobalt blue along with overglaze enamels in iron red, gold, and green.

Authentic examples feature hand-painted underglaze blue and overglaze enamel work with subtle brush variations, occasional spur marks on the base, and characteristic floral or geometric panel patterns.
