Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Imari porcelain refers to Japanese export ceramics produced in the Arita region of Hizen province. The style gained widespread fame through export from the port of Imari, defined by its distinctive palette of underglaze blue paired with overglaze iron red and gilding.

Authentic Imari pieces are crafted from hard-paste kaolin porcelain. The production involves firing underglaze cobalt blue at high temperatures, followed by low-fire enamelling in iron red, green, and gold Leaf, often featuring lobed rims or fluted shaping.

Authentic nineteenth-century and earlier pieces display slight imperfections in the glaze, rich cobalt blues with depth, visible brushwork in the red enamelling, and hand-applied gilt detailing that exhibits gentle wear along prominent edges.

An Imari charger functions effectively as a focal point displayed on a wooden easel atop a sideboard, positioned centrally on a dining table, or mounted to create a dramatic wall gallery among contrasting pottery.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners. Never submerge pieces with delicate gilding or place them in automated dishwashers.
