This 1930 Edwardian trolley is fashioned from warm brown mahogany with a polished finish and brass hardware. The piece presents a two-tier rectangular design with scalloped gallery borders around both shelves, four turned baluster posts accented with small finials at the upper corners, and an egg and dart moulding along the edges. The lower section includes supporting stretchers and four brass castors on curved feet. The dimensions are 81 cm high, 61 cm wide, and 41 cm deep. In a modern interior, this functional trolley serves as a mobile bar cart or a side table positioned in an empty corner of a living room, dining room, or study for holding glassware, bottles, books, or decorative objects. The compact proportions allow it to fit easily into smaller spaces while providing double-deck storage on wheels for convenient relocation.

Originally introduced during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, tea trolleys were designed to transport tea services, light refreshments, and tableware from kitchens to formal reception rooms or dining spaces.

Traditional two-tier trolleys are typically constructed from dense hardwoods such as mahogany or oak, fitted with turned wooden supports, brass or iron swivel castors, and decorative edge moulding or inlays.

Authentic pieces feature hand-turned upright supports, brass swivel castors secured with fitted sockets, genuine timber grain variation, and traditional joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon joints.

A two-tier trolley can be repurposed as a mobile cocktail bar, a compact side table beside upholstery, or a decorative plant stand within living spaces and dining rooms.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish periodically along the wood grain, while keeping the metal castors clean and free from debris to preserve smooth mobility.
