Description

A late 19thC French Demi lune half moon side table c1880. This petite and charming table has a half moon top quarter veneered in kingwood, inlaid with boxwood stringing to emphasise the shape and has fluted brass edging. The pattern is repeated on the curving side. There are three shaped drawers at the front, also repeating the design, with original brass acorn knobs. The table is further embellished with good quality brass furniture plates either side of the drawers and on the base of the front legs. In overall good antique condition, especially the wood which is not s ratchet or damaged. The back is faced with mahogany, polished, so this piece could stand mid room as well as against a wall.

This late 19th-century French console table follows the Louis XV Revival style, dating to 1880. Constructed from kingwood with oak and ormolu, the piece displays a warm brown colour palette with rich wood tones. The half-moon top features quarter veneer and boxwood stringing, edged with fluted brass and finished with matching patterns along the curving sides.
