History
Alfred Jean Foretay, Swiss sculptor and painter born in Morges in 1861 and died in Geneva in 1944. This bronze with brown patina is typical of the Art Nouveau style and measures 34 cm high He studied first in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in the sculpture section at Alexandre Falguière and then exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris At the end of his life he produced works for the Municipality of Geneva where he died
