Description:?This is a good quality antique English Regency mahogany box table, constructed in decorative flame mahogany, with a hinged lid, incorporating an internal upholstered storage box, circa 1830, in good condition.
It started life out as a commode, but has been converted into a functional box table. The mahogany box table comprises a decoratively shaped frieze on three sides, displaying a lovely flame mahogany grain configuration. The hinged moulded lid opens to reveal a useful storage box, lined in blue cotton and decorated with lattice ribbon-work and brass studs. The internal box would be ideal for storing magazines, TV remote controls, a sewing kit, make-up or just as a general tidy box! The Regency mahogany box table is raised on its original four tapered legs.

Condition Report:
It started life out as a commode, but has been converted into a stool. The hinged lid opens to reveal a storage area, which has been newly lined with in blue cotton; the lid has been decorated with lattice ribbon-work and finished with decorative brass studs. The upholstery is therefore new, clean and free from any wear, dirt or damage. The mahogany frame has been cleaned and French polished to a professional standard. There is a slight warp to the hinged lid and old worm holes to the front panel – the box table has been treated prior to restoration. The internal compartment is dry and clean. There are no breaks to the legs or frame. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mahogany table is solid in joint and ready to use.
