This late 19th-century Neoclassical console table and matching pier mirror set uses giltwood, dark marble, and mirror glass in a grand Regency style, rendered in gold and black tones. The upright pier mirror incorporates a rectangular bevelled glass plate within a hand-carved, moulded, and fluted giltwood frame featuring applied floral paterae, beading, lozenge, lamb's tongue, and ribbon detail, surmounted by a curved architectural pediment with diamond pattern detail and dentil moulding above a fluted frieze. The matching console table has a moulded Marquina Black marble top of demilune form above a fluted frieze, supported on three elegantly tapering cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carving on the knee and scroll detail, conjoined with a curved concave stretcher and terminating on toupie feet. The entire assembled piece measures 246.4 cm high, 106 cm wide, and 45.7 cm deep. Positioned beside the front door, this console and mirror combination provides a functional and decorative entryway statement for checking appearance and holding daily items.

A pier glass and console table set consists of a narrow table with a marble top designed to sit flat against a wall, paired with a tall matching mirror above it to reflect natural light and enhance depth within a room.

These sets are constructed from carved timber or composite moulding finished with gesso and gold leaf gilding, complemented by polished marble tops and mirrored glass.

Genuine period pieces exhibit subtle wear and oxidisation on the gilded finish, traditional joinery behind the mirror frame, and natural veining on the marble surface.

Positioning the suite in a hallway or formal entrance creates an architectural focal point that maximizes vertical space and bounces light through open areas.

Dust gilt surfaces using a soft dry brush without water or chemical polish, and wipe the marble top using a clean damp cloth followed by immediate drying.
