Japanese Meiji/Taisho (early 20thC) female nude Female Bronze by Sogan Saito (1889-1974), signed on the back, 21.5cm high x 12cm wide x 17cm deep, weight 2.55kg.

Superb condition.

Saito published his work since 1912 and won numerous awards. He was a member of the Japan Art Academy and an active representative sculptor of modern Japan, establishing ‘Kozosha’, a Japanese sculpture group. He lived for 31 years in Kodaira City (Tokyo prefecture), where many of his works are on public display.
