1940 - 1960
Description

A very rare collection of Thomas 'Gnomeman' Whittaker carved English oak figures.

Thomas Whittaker of Littlebeck, Whitby, North Yorkshire. (1910-1991)

All tool carved in the 'Yorkshire Critters' tradition from a solid block of English oak in Tom's characteristically rustic style, with his distinctive gnome signature to the back of the plinths.

Featuring a range of the Queens Beasts as modelled around the time of the coronation in 1953.

Offered in superb original condition, with a lovely colour.
