Description

An unusual and fine miniature Japanese bronze and mixed metal okimono of a pigeon, c. 1890, Meiji Period. The pigeon perched upon a gnarled branch, with his wings spread. His finely cast plumage, and eyes, inlaid in gold and silver, whilst his beak, and legs in shakudo.

Height – 8 cm, 3 1/8”.

Width – 7.5 cm, 2 7/8”.

Depth – 5.2 cm, 2”.

Condition – Excellent original condition.
