The Georgian paper / magazine rack comprises an outer bar-shape frame with simple turned supports and finials in each corner. The Regency Canterbury is divided into four compartments, by five rows of simple, slatted supports, each row topped with a concave bar. The central slat features a carrying handle, allowing you to pick up the rack and easily move it. The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. Below is a drawer, which retains the original Regency brass pull-ring handles and backplates. The working drawer is constructed with hand-dovetailed joints and closes flush to the frame. The Regency Canterbury is raised on its original ring turned legs and terminates on the original brass castor collars and wheels. This mahogany Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers.

Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Regency Canterbury, constructed of solid mahogany, incorporating a single working drawer, from the George IV period, circa 1830, in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The magazine rack has a fantastic colour and patination; having been professionally French polished by hand in our workshop. The panels are complete, with no missing sections. The mahogany lined drawer retains the original brass pull-ring handles and escutcheons and original hand-dovetailed mahogany drawer linings. The drawer runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. The turned legs and brass castors are all original. The Regency Canterbury has been constructed from the finest materials. This paper tidy is solid in joint and ready to use.
