Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Traditional Chinese plant and jardiniere stands were crafted to elevate potted plants, sculptures, and art objects within traditional scholars studios and reception halls, reflecting an appreciation for nature and balance.

These pieces are typically constructed from dense hardwoods such as huanghuali, zitan, or ironwood, frequently employing traditional mortise and tenon joints without the use of metal nails or glues.

Authenticity is determined by evaluating the quality of hand-carving, the presence of natural shrinkage cracks, the depth of the timber patina, and traditional joinery techniques consistent with historical periods.

An antique stand can be integrated into modern spaces as a sculptural pedestal for a ceramic vessel, a table lamp, or a trailing houseplant, creating a focal point that contrasts with clean architectural lines.

Preserve the timber by maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional furniture wax rather than modern silicone polishes.
