Fabulous Guanyin Bodhisattva bronze sitting on a root wood stand. This bronze deity is in excellent condition and expertly sculpted with a stunning serene expression on its face. The details to the robe and jewels are outstanding. There is a praying attendant and a standing deity beautifully carved into the root wood that it sits on. This is a stunning item that will bring calm to any room.

Guanyin is a Bodhisattva associated with compassion. She is the East Asian representation of Avalokitesvara and has been adopted by other Eastern religions, including Chinese folk religion. She was first given the appellation "Goddess of Mercy" or "Mercy Goddess" by Jesuit missionaries in China. Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means " Perceives the Sounds of the World."
