What periods do these pieces span?

The collection spans multiple centuries, incorporating works from the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries, alongside mid-twentieth-century examples and earlier revival styles. Buyers will find specific pieces echoing the aesthetic of the Georgian, Regency, Victorian, and Edwardian eras.

How should I hang these framed works?

These pieces require secure wall fixings suited to the combined weight of the heavy wooden frames and canvas or panel supports. Positioning them away from direct sunlight protects the delicate oil paints, pastels, and gold leaf from fading over time.

Are the frames original to the art?

Many works retain their period-appropriate frames, which often share the stylistic era of the painting or drawing within. Certain pieces may be paired with later complementary gilded frames chosen to protect and display the artwork effectively.

What subjects are most common?

Portraiture dominates the selection, featuring depictions of nobility, gentlemen, ladies, and children from various historical epochs. Landscapes, marine scenes, and classical mythological subjects also appear frequently across the listings.
