What is a gueridon table?

A gueridon is a round freestanding table designed for the centre of a room rather than against a wall. They typically feature a central pedestal base and a stone or timber top. These pieces function well as display surfaces for lamps or decorative objects in large entryways.

Are these tables heavy?

Most pieces incorporate thick marble slabs fitted to mahogany frames, adding considerable weight to the overall structure. Two people are usually required to move them safely. This mass helps anchor freestanding centre tables firmly in place on wooden or tiled floors.

How do I care for the marble?

Wipe the stone surface regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap, avoiding acidic cleaners that etch the polish. Use coasters beneath glasses to prevent staining. Applying a specialist stone wax periodically helps protect the finish from moisture.

Where should I place a console?

Console tables fit neatly against hallway walls where floor space is limited. Their shallow depth allows clearance for passing traffic. Pairing the table with a wall mirror creates a balanced focal point near an entrance.
