Where should I place an armoire?

Position your brown oak armoire against a sturdy wall with sufficient clearance for large doors to open fully. Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight to protect the polish and prevent wood movement.

How do I clean the timber?

Dust the surfaces regularly with a dry lint-free cloth to remove particles that might scratch the grain. Apply traditional beeswax occasionally to nourish the oak and maintain a soft, natural lustre.

Are these wardrobes easy to dismantle?

Many older wardrobes and cupboards utilise pegged frame construction rather than modern knockdown fixings. Check individual construction methods before attempting transport through narrow doorways or stairwells.

How do I identify the period?

Examine the timber preparation marks, hinge types, and joinery details used inside the framework. Hand-cut dovetails and forged ironwork typically point to 18th-century and earlier vernacular origins.
