Where should I place a stick stand?

These racks belong in an entrance hall, vestibule or porch where wet outdoor gear is deposited upon entry. Their compact footprints allow them to sit neatly against a wall without obstructing passageways. Positioning them near the front door catches drips and keeps walking canes readily accessible as you leave the house.

How do I clean brass and iron?

Dust the metal regularly with a soft, dry cloth to prevent grime accumulation in the crevices and joints. Avoid harsh chemical polishes that strip away the aged patina accumulated over decades of use. For stubborn marks, a gentle application of appropriate metal cleaner applied sparingly will restore the sheen without damaging the underlying alloy.

What is the difference between a half-moon and circular rack?

Half-moon or demi-lune stands possess a flat back edge designed to stand directly against a hallway wall. This shape accommodates tighter spaces while still offering ample storage divisions. Circular racks occupy a freestanding footprint, allowing access to umbrellas from all sides. They suit larger entrance halls where the piece floats independently in the space.

Can these stands hold heavy walking canes?

The combination of solid brass frames and heavy cast iron bases provides robust structural support. These pieces were engineered specifically to bear the weight of dense wood walking sticks and iron-tipped umbrellas. The individual divisions ensure that even heavy items remain upright and balanced within the frame.
