Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This nineteenth-century Jacobean revival hall stand is made of bleached oak in a warm brown colour with a bleached finish. The piece comprises a tall central vertical column with continuous rosette carvings, a small top finial, two horizontal rails fitted with turned coat pegs, a flat table surface, bobbin-turned legs, a lower shelf, and two metal drip trays. The woodwork displays extensive decorative carved motifs including circular floral rosettes, scrolled brackets, and turned details. It stands 201 cm high, 97 cm wide, and 37 cm deep. In a modern home, this hall stand provides practical storage in an entrance hallway or boot room for coats, hats, and umbrellas. The slim depth allows placement in narrow corridors or tight spaces without obstructing passage.

A carved oak hall stand, also referred to as a hall tree, is a functional piece of entryway furniture designed to store coats, hats, and umbrellas in a single vertical unit, popularised during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Historical hall stands were typically constructed from durable hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, featuring turned wood pegs for hanging garments and integrated metal or iron drip trays at the base for umbrellas.

Authentic period hall stands display traditional joinery methods, such as mortise and tenon joints, hand-carved decorative motifs, original turned pegs, and natural surface wear consistent with age.

Place the hall stand in an entryway, porch, or wide corridor to serve as an architectural focal point, pairing the carved wood texture against simple painted walls or classic tiled flooring.

Maintain the piece by dusting carved details with a soft brush, applying a clear beeswax polish periodically to protect the oak finish, and keeping metal umbrella trays dry to prevent moisture damage to the timber.
