A Regency period jardiniere is an ornamental stand or vessel designed to hold plants and flowers, manufactured during the British Regency era characterised by classical architectural influences and refined proportions.

Traditional jardinieres from the 19th century were predominantly crafted from dense tropical hardwoods such as mahogany, often featuring brass liners, castors, and intricate carved details.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-correct joinery, dense timber patination, hand-turned elements, and structural characteristics consistent with early 19th-century cabinet making techniques.

This piece functions effectively as an accent display stand, where it can be styled with potted foliage or decorative ceramics to add vertical interest and traditional warmth to a room.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent timber fading, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood surface.
