Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Georgian style furniture spans the reigns of the first four Georges from 1714 to 1830, characterised by a transition from heavy, carved walnut to refined mahogany, incorporating influences from Palladianism, rococo, and neoclassical designs.

Craftsmen predominantly used solid mahogany and imported tropical hardwoods, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, brass hardware, crossbanding, and marquetry inlay.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage consistent with age, period brass fittings, and secondary woods like pine or oak used in non-visible structural areas.

Pairing a historic wooden cabinet with contemporary lighting and minimalist decor creates a curated look that highlights the rich grain and craftsmanship of the antique without overwhelming the room.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood.
