Restored Antique Lion Hand Carved Brown Leather Chesterfield Sofa Armchair Suite

Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, exceptionally rare, fully restored, Victorian circa 1880 Jacobean Revival, Chesterfield tufted, Whisky brown leather suite with hand carved Lion detailing

This suite has been on a journey, it was purchased from an antiques dealer in Belgium who has been in the trade for what looks like a hundred years, heavens knows how long this suite had been with him but I was delighted to discover it. It is an exceptionally rare find, I never come across original sets of Jacobean Revival seating let alone, those that have heavily carved Lion detailing.

This suite has been top to bottom restored to include the following, the original upholstery was removed, the frames were then washed back and traditionally French polished from top to bottom, the seating internals were checked and restored as required but mostly it was in very fine order, they have then all been upholstered by a fourth generation trained Victorian upholsterer, he used premium cattle hide Italian fully aniline leather, this was upholstered plain, it was then hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed, waxed down and polished
