This set of three nesting tables dates from the 1930 period in a French Neoclassical style. Each piece is constructed from brass with a warm metallic finish and fitted with clear glass shelves, shaped with an elongated D profile and a raised pierced gallery border around the edges. The framework incorporates fluted vertical columns finished with decorative urn finials at the top corners and small wheeled castors at the base of each leg, while the two larger tables contain one glass tier and the smallest table contains two tiers. The largest table measures 62.2 cm high, 58.4 cm wide, and 40.6 cm deep. Positioned in a contemporary home interior, this set serves well at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair for drinks service and display use. The graduated nesting design allows the smaller tables to tuck neatly beneath the larger ones when not in active use, providing flexible surface space in a living room, study, or drawing room. The polished brass construction and transparent glass surfaces integrate easily into both traditional and transitional decorative schemes, offering functional utility alongside period character.

FAQs

Mid-century French brass design often combines Neoclassical proportions with refined metalwork, featuring fluted columns, urn finials, pierced gallery rims, and clear glass surfaces.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid or plated brass frame components, fitted with toughened or plate glass tiers and small metal caster wheels for mobility.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy-gauge brass framework, precise joinery around the gallery edges, finely turned finials, and functional castors integrated seamlessly into the legs.

Position the nested stack beside primary seating to function as a compact side table, or separate the individual trolleys during gatherings to provide flexible beverage service areas.

Clean glass panes with a soft microfibre cloth and non-ammonia cleaner. Maintain the brass frame by dusting regularly with a dry cloth, avoiding abrasive polish that can strip original lacquer or patination.
