Rare pair of Staffordshire spaniels modelled as Toby jugs. The dogs have a great sense of fun, up on their hind legs with tricorn hats. The pair are very well painted in typical oxide red with mottled yellow and brown hats. The slightly grumpy expressions are wonderful and both have gilded collars with some slight wear. The pair are both in excellent condition. A rare example of Staffordshire dogs with a great decorative impact. C.1870.
