Description

Copenhagen porcelain cabinet cup and stand, c. 1870. The cup, painted with a gilt scroll shaped panel of a man on horseback, seeking directions from another man, before a tavern. Moulded with an elaborate scroll handle, and set upon a pedestal foot.

The circular stand, painted with three similar panels, within a gilt scroll border.

Underglaze blue ‘Waves’ mark to both items.

Height of cup - 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.

Diameter of stand - 13.5 cm, 5 1/4”.

Condition - Typical age related minor wear to the gilding. No damage. No restoration.
