Worcester Porcelain Cup and Saucer, C. 1765.

Description

Worcester porcelain cup and saucer, c. 1765. The finely potted items, painted in the manner of John Rogers, with a large spray of flowers, amongst smaller sprigs; the saucer, with a large green beetle. The bell shaped cup, having a wishbone handle.

Underglaze blue ‘Crossed Swords’, and ‘6’ to the base of the saucer.

Height of cup - 5.5 cm, 2 1/8”.

Diameter of saucer - 12.7 cm, 5”.

Condition - Some minute frits to the edge of the saucer - please see images for detail. No restoration.
