1902-1913 Locke and Co. Worcester Jug.

Description

1902-1913 small jug by Locke and Co. Worcester.

Edward Locke was a senior artist and master potter at Grainger's factory. He left there to produce his own porcelain in 1895.

The jug is decorated with graduated shadings of colour with branch handle and gilt trim on the ruffled edge, while the body is comprised of raised acanthus leaf carved rosettes.

Very unusual.

Size-5 inches wide spout to handle, by 3.5 inches diameter body, by 2.25 inches high.

Has been broken on the side and restuck, but is in good display condition. Matching bowl without faults and in very good condition is also for sale. See listing.
