Antique English Pewter 1 Pint Lidded Tankard, C1740, by Allen Bright of Bristol

Description

A fine antique English pewter lidded tankard of 1 Imperial pint capacity, by Allen Bright of Bristol, Cott O.P 574.

The Tankard is of ‘tulip’ form, with double dome lid and a solid chair back thumb piece. Impressive handle with a ‘hooded’ ball terminal.

The base is struck with the maker’s touch mark.

The tankard is in excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish.

Circa 1740.

Size:

Height: 6.0 in (15.3cm).
