This 19th-century side table follows a Moorish Revival design tradition, made from warm brown hardwood inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bone. The octagonal top features intricate geometric marquetry alongside floral central roundel motifs, while the vertical panels and aprons display fine floral inlay and carved Moorish arches above lower stretchers. Visible details include numerous white mother-of-pearl dot and star inlays punctuating the framework, alongside traditional pegged joinery and warm timber grain variations. The table measures 52 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 50 cm deep. Position this piece at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair as an accent table for drinks, books, or a small lamp. Its compact proportions suit placement in a living room, hallway, or reading corner where decorative surface space is needed.

Moorish Revival furniture from the 19th century features geometric marquetry, mother-of-pearl or bone inlay, and architectural forms inspired by Islamic arches and arabesque patterns.

These tables were constructed primarily from dense hardwoods such as walnut or cedar, embellished with hand-cut mother-of-pearl, bone, or contrasting wood tesserae set into carved recesses.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut, slightly irregular inlay pieces, natural surface oxidation, traditional joinery, and minor variations indicative of handcraftsmanship.

Position the table as an accent piece beside a structured sofa or armchair to create visual contrast against modern upholstery and clean architectural lines.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and avoid placing the item in direct sunlight or humid environments to prevent wood movement and loosening of inlay pieces.
