Elegant Mahogany Kidney Shaped Occasional Table.

Description

A very attractive small kidney shaped French mahogany occasional table. The elegant slender cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots. The frieze having an ormolu mount with blue and white Jasper ware plaque of ancient Greek mythology. The solid mahogany shaped top having subtle ormolu beading. The underside bears the retailers label for James Craig & Co. of Glasgow. NOTE. This firm operated as a prominent contractor and cabinetmaker in Glasgow's design scene, working alongside the Scottish Guild of Handicrafts and contributing interior furnishings for iconic Glasgow projects such as the Willows Tearooms commissioned by Kate Cranston.
