Description

Lovely Japanese Meiji (early 20thC) set of four lacquer vemillion sake cups (sakazuki), the largest two decorated in gold maki-e and mother-of-pearl with bamboo and a rooster (14.5cm dia.) and a collection of ‘treasures’ (12.8cm dia.). The smaller cups (10.5cm/9cm dia.) are decorated with cranes and minogame.

Excellent original condition.
