In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Topographical cabinet cups are ornamental porcelain vessels produced during the late 18th and 19th centuries featuring detailed, hand-painted views of specific landscapes, towns, or landmarks. Intended for display in cabinets of curiosity rather than daily use, they were popularised by prominent European manufactories including KPM Berlin, Meissen, and Vienna.

19th-century Berlin porcelain was constructed from hard-paste porcelain, characterised by high kaolin content fired at extreme temperatures. Decorative elements were applied by miniaturists using enamels, complemented by burnished gold leaf gilding along the rims, handles, and borders.

Authentic Berlin porcelain pieces typically feature an underglaze blue sceptre mark stamped or painted on the base. Collectors should examine the precise quality of the enamel painting, the thickness of the gilding, and the presence of impressed batch numbers or painter marks on the unglazed foot rim.

Decorative porcelain cups work effectively when displayed inside glazed china cabinets, arranged along library shelving, or positioned on a sideboard top alongside contemporary glass or metallic accessories to create contrast.

To preserve overglaze enamel painting and delicate gilding, clean the piece gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or an ostrich feather duster. Avoid immersion in water, detergent solutions, and abrasive materials, as these can erode the gilt ornamentation and historical marks.
