An exceptionally fine and elegantly potted Chinese porcelain deep wine or teacup.
The exterior is beautifully decorated in underglaze blue with a series of stylized bats (fu 蝠) in various positions of flight, representing the Wufu or Five Blessings of longevity, wealth, health, love of virtue, and a peaceful death.
The cobalt blue motifs are subtly reserved against a remarkably even, smooth, luminous lime-green/celadon enamel ground. The interior and well are left white, coated in a flawless, glassy transparent glaze showing an immaculate sheen. The base features a crisply written six-character Zhuanshu (seal) mark in underglaze blue contained within a clean double-square boundary.
