Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These two side tables date from the 1920 period of the Jacobean Revival style, constructed from solid oak in a warm brown colour with a clear finish. Each piece has a round circular top with a scalloped piecrust edge and visible wood grain patterns. The framework stands on barley twist legs supported by low square perimeter stretchers near the floor, terminating in small bun feet. Both items are presented in a sturdy condition showing everyday signs of age consistent with vintage antique furniture. Each table measures 74 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 51 cm deep. Suitable for placement in a traditional living room, drawing room, or hallway, these surfaces function well next to an armchair, at the end of a sofa, or as display stands for lamps, plants, and decorative ornaments.

Barley twist tables feature spiral-turned legs inspired by Solomonic columns, a woodworking technique that gained widespread popularity in 17th-century England and experienced major resurgences during the late Victorian and Jacobean Revival eras.

Solid native hardwoods, primarily English oak, were crafted using traditional joinery such as mortise and tenon joints, often featuring lathe-turned spiralled legs and shaped edges like piecrust molding.

Look for hand-turned irregularities in the spiral legs, quarter-sawn ray fleck patterns in the wood grain, pegged joinery construction, and natural surface oxidation along the lower stretchers.

Position them alongside contemporary upholstery to add rich wood texture, framing the tabletop with modern ceramics or table lamps to contrast intricate period turning with clean modern lines.

Apply clear beeswax polish periodically along the wood grain, avoid placing near direct radiator heat or humid environments, and dust surfaces with a soft, dry lint-free cloth.
