A beautiful and imposing English Georgian wine glass, dating to the mid-18th century (circa 1750).
Standing at an impressive 17cm tall, it has a much more commanding presence than the standard smaller examples of this era.
The Bowl: A classic elegant trumpet shape with excellent clarity and period-correct striations.
The Stem: A solid plain stem featuring a perfectly centred, elongated air tear (teardrop bubble) trapped within the glass.
The Foot: A wide, conical folded foot, designed to provide stability and resist chipping—a hallmark of quality 18th-century craftsmanship.
Manufacturing Marks: The base features a sharp, authentic snapped pontil mark, confirming its hand-made, pre-industrial origin.
Condition:
Pristine Antique Condition. This glass has been remarkably well-preserved for over 270 years. There are no chips, cracks, or "flea bites" to the rim or the folded foot. The glass is clear with no signs of "sickness" or clouding.
