Touch of Time Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
To the front of the cup, a rectangular reserve is framed in gilding and exquisitely painted with a pastoral riverside view, complete with figures, architecture and boats; the saucer centre is decorated with a scrolling gilt motif.

Marks: underglaze crossed swords and additional red triangle mark denoting this type of gilding; all marks authentic and conforming to factory practice of the period.

Dimensions: cup 6.5 cm high, 9.6 cm diameter; saucer 15.4 cm diameter.
Condition: exceptional; no damage or restoration, minimal age-consistent wear to the gilding.
Pieces of this quality, with strong cobalt and early burnished gold, are increasingly difficult to source and make a significant addition to any serious Meissen or European porcelain collection.
