This early 20th century Regency style garden seat comes in an off-white painted finish with an iron construction. The decorative backrest displays Gothic arches and scroll cresting above shaped armrests and a slatted strapwork seat. Additional practical elements include an integrated, full-width fold-down lower footrest with supporting feet, and rotating wheels on the left-hand base for easy moving. The piece shows visible weathering on the paint and metal frame, adding character to the surface. Measuring 91.5 cm high, 153.5 cm wide and 46 cm deep, the bench accommodates three people comfortably. Position this seating arrangement in a sunlit conservatory, a traditional garden patio, or an orangery to create a practical spot for relaxation. The weather-resistant metal construction allows for placement in outdoor courtyards or sheltered porch areas. Pair the bench with coordinating botanical pots, wrought iron plant stands, or a weathered timber table to complete a classic outdoor seating arrangement.

Regency style garden furniture is characterised by geometric patterns, gothic arch motifs, and lightweight strapwork iron construction that gained prominence in early nineteenth-century Britain.

Traditional strapwork seats were constructed using forged flat iron bars riveted or bolted together to form openwork slats, decorative backrests, and sturdy metal frames designed for outdoor durability.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-hammered joinery, heavy-gauge wrought iron rather than cast iron, historical layers of flaking paint, and natural surface oxidisation along joints.

An iron garden bench functions as a structural focal point positioned along a gravel path, against a brick wall, inside a conservatory, or on a stone terrace alongside potted plants.

To preserve patinated painted iron, apply a clear protective rust-inhibiting wax to the metal frame periodically and store the piece under cover during extreme winter weather.
