Description

An outstanding piece of French oak furniture, this has some stunning carving and would have been made to celebrate the start of a marriage at the turn of the 19th century. It will look wonderful in a dining or living area and provides a good storage capacity for a range of household items.

- Separates into 4 pieces, with the cornice, lower and upper cupboards, and doors disconnecting to aid transport.

- Beautiful quality carving of flowers and leaves, with the flower baskets at the top proud of the doors.

- Shelves in both cupboards are removable, the top one adjustable to a higher position on wooden supports.

- Ornate steel hinges and escutcheons.

- Internal hooks hold the left doors closed, with keys available for the right side.

- Carved apron and panelled sides.

In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is some minor breakage to the leaves at the centre top right of the largest flower basket, with an unobtrusive split horizontally beneath the cord which allows the carving to flex, but it is difficult to see and the carving is stable.
