FAQs

Reformed Gothic design emerged during the 19th century as part of the Gothic Revival movement, prioritising structural honesty, simplicity, and medieval architectural motifs over heavy ornamentation.

These pieces were typically constructed from durable native timbers such as pine or oak, utilising traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon to withstand heavy communal use.

Authenticity is determined by examining tool marks, timber oxidisation, hardware construction, and consistent wear patterns appropriate to ecclesiastical use.

They make striking seating options for large dining tables, entryways, or hallways, adding architectural weight and historical contrast to contemporary spaces.

Maintain the timber by dusting with a dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood.
